Learn @ Asbestos

Asbestos is a naturally occurring fibrous material that has been in use for about 150 years. It can be very deadly!! The material is very versatile, which explains its wide use in a large amount of building materials, such as insulation.

Asbestos materials are commonly found in older flooring and other underlayment materials. This photo is a close up of Asbestos material as seen with a microscope. 

The above picture depicts Asbestos roofing material adhered to another roofing product. Typically, layers of roofing materials often hide older roofing materials containing Asbestos. 

Basements and crawl spaces are often common locations for pipe wrapping materials, which when typically made with cloth, usually have Asbestos content.  

Olympic Peninsula Asbestos Consultants performs all Asbestos inspections featuring bulk sampling and thorough site inspections and creates a summary of observations.

We sample all suspicious items and areas which may contain Asbestos with our objective being the observation of friability, deterioration and condition of the collected samples.
